Position Summary
The Senior Project Engineer is responsible for leading complex engineering projects within foundry and/or machining operations, with a strong focus on process improvement, equipment upgrades, and new technology implementation. This role requires deep technical expertise in heavy manufacturing environments and the ability to manage projects from concept through execution.
The ideal candidate will serve as a technical leader, driving innovation while ensuring projects align with operational, financial, and strategic objectives.

General Duties & Responsibilities
Promote and uphold company values, safety standards, and ethical conduct
Adhere to all environmental, health, and safety policies
Support supervisors and managers in maintaining a safe work environment
Utilize appropriate PPE and follow ergonomic and safe lifting practices
Conduct routine equipment inspections and report issues
Job-Specific Responsibilities
Develop and manage project plans, budgets, risk assessments, and timelines
Lead technical execution of engineering projects, ensuring accuracy and quality
Drive continuous improvement and efficiency through structured project methodologies
Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, maintenance, quality, and leadership
Support CAPEX and OPEX planning, budgeting, and justification
Track ROI on capital investments and evaluate operational spend effectiveness
Troubleshoot technical issues alongside maintenance, production, and quality teams
Maintain detailed project documentation (scope, schedules, budgets, risks)
Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations
Evaluate and implement new technologies and automation solutions
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and interns
Supervisory Responsibilities
May directly supervise engineers or technical staff as assigned. Responsibilities include training, assigning work, performance evaluation, coaching, discipline, and conflict resolution in accordance with company policy and applicable laws.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field (Master’s preferred)
Minimum of 5 years of progressive engineering experience, including leadership exposure
Strong foundation in engineering principles, project management, and quality standards
Proven experience managing budgets, resources, and project milestones
Foundry or heavy manufacturing experience strongly preferred
Skills & Competencies
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
Proficiency with CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks)
Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies
PMP certification or equivalent training preferred
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting
On-site role within a foundry/manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, noise, and industrial equipment
Occasional travel to supplier sites, sister facilities, conferences, or industry events
