Job Summary: This role provides leadership and direction to the Press department related to meeting or exceeding customer requirements
Knowledge And Skills (Education)
• Community College courses in Business related discipline preferred
• Strong communicator in the English language, both written and oral
• Minimum 3 - 4 years' experience in similar role
• Thorough knowledge of stamping processes
• Proficient in Microsoft office
• Ability to lead a large team and strong problem-solving skills
• High level of time management and organizational skills
• Familiar with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations
• Knowledge of automotive industry processes and operations
Major Accountabilities
• Responsible for Supervising Press roles; Lead hands, Press Operators and Set up, to ensure the appropriate training, coaching and discipline is given to ensure high performance of tasks to meet scheduled requirements
• Identify, record and report quality nonconformance's and escalate to Quality Manager. Prevent further processing, assembly or delivery of non-conforming product
• Develop production planning, communicates responsibilities, establish production timeline and ensure intent results is achieved for own department
• Address all quality related problems and provide prompt resolutions and recommendations so as to minimize production interruption
• Ensure that raw materials and products are dispersed or consumed based on FIFO and customers' requirements
• Ensure that product identification, traceability, process control, packaging instructions are being followed at all times
• Analyze machine downtime to identify and provide resolutions on all mechanical problems
• Minimize costs of operating through proper planning and efficient use of all available resources
• Participate in internal quality audits to determine the effectiveness of the quality system
• Abide by all company polices including, but not limited to the following: Health and safety, Quality and Environmental Systems, Human resources policies, and Company Employee Handbook
• Ensure compliance with all applicable codes, standards and legislation including Environmental Legislation, O. Reg 851 for Industrial Establishments, and the Occupational Health and Safety Act (with emphasis on Section 28, (1) (a)-(d), (2) (a)-(c)).
• Search out, recommend and implement process improvements.
• Assist plant leadership in driving and accomplishing key performance indicators.
• Assist in the hiring process and new associate orientation
