Class A Lowboy Driver – Heavy Civil (North Atlanta, GA)

Reliable transportation of materials and equipment is critical to the success of a leading commercial construction contractor in the Metro Atlanta region. We’re seeking experienced, safety-focused Class A CDL drivers to keep projects moving efficiently. This is a full-time, yard-based role with early start times and occasional extended hours, offering consistent local work with minimal overnight travel.

What You’ll Do

  • Safely operate Class A vehicles with 48–53’ RGN and Landall trailers to transport construction materials and equipment.
  • Ensure all loads are properly secured and compliant with DOT regulations, including unsupervised loading of heavy iron.
  • Plan and execute delivery schedules efficiently to meet project deadlines.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections, reporting issues promptly.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and company safety regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers, project managers, and team members.
  • Keep accurate logs of mileage, deliveries, and equipment usage.
  • Assist with minor maintenance and troubleshooting mechanical issues.
  • Help around the yard or shop on rainy days or when local work slows.
  • Keep trucks and yard areas clean and organized to support operational efficiency.

What We’re Looking For

  • Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience operating heavy vehicles, with proven RGN/lowboy experience hauling heavy iron or construction materials.
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations, load securement, and safety requirements.
  • Ability to safely lift and secure loads using chains, straps, and other equipment.
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Willingness to start early (typically 6 AM–3 PM) with flexibility for earlier or later shifts; minimal overnight travel.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Positive attitude, safety-conscious mindset, and commitment to reliability.
