We are seeking a Process Improvement Engineer to assist management in analyzing production processes and enhancing equipment reliability and operational efficiency. This role plays a critical part in identifying and implementing improvements that increase safety, productivity, and profitability across the facility.
Primary Objective
Support plant management by analyzing safety, production, and maintenance procedures to identify areas of improvement, reduce downtime, and increase margin performance through sustainable process changes.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze production, safety, and maintenance processes to identify efficiency and margin improvement opportunities
Evaluate OEM processes and recommend improvements to standard operating procedures
Monitor production reports and quality control systems to detect trends or process deviations
Mentor and coach team members to build leadership skills, increase efficiency, and foster teamwork
Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance productivity and equipment reliability
Communicate clearly and effectively with team members and leadership to avoid miscommunication and delays
Collaborate with senior staff on issues related to personnel, safety, finance, and procurement, seeking cross-functional optimizations
Support special projects and additional duties as assigned by the Engineering Manager
What You’ll Need
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or related discipline) from an accredited university
Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment (lumber industry preferred)
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Maximo, and Power BI
Strong analytical skills for interpreting operational data and driving evidence-based decisions
Proven problem-solving and decision-making abilities
Understanding of how process training can drive production improvements
Demonstrated ability to identify and implement margin-improving strategies
