We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Maintenance to lead all maintenance operations within our foundry facility. This role is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive maintenance strategies to ensure optimal equipment reliability, uptime, and safety. The Director will oversee all aspects of mechanical, electrical, and preventative maintenance while leading a team of skilled technicians and supervisors. A successful candidate will bring both hands-on technical knowledge and leadership capability to drive continuous improvement, efficiency, and asset longevity across the foundry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a robust maintenance program including preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance strategies for all foundry equipment and infrastructure.

  • Lead, mentor, and manage the maintenance team including supervisors, technicians, and support staff to ensure safety, productivity, and skills development.

  • Partner with operations, engineering, and EH&S to improve equipment performance, reduce downtime, and maintain compliance with safety and environmental standards.

  • Establish and manage KPIs for maintenance effectiveness, such as MTBF, MTTR, OEE, and maintenance cost as a percentage of asset value.

  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and enforce a safety-first culture throughout all maintenance activities.

  • Plan and manage capital improvement and equipment upgrade projects, including budget preparation and cost control.

  • Oversee spare parts inventory and CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) utilization to ensure data integrity and efficiency.

  • Conduct root cause analyses and lead problem-solving efforts to resolve chronic maintenance issues.

  • Monitor and control the maintenance budget, optimizing resource allocation and cost efficiency.

  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and standards (e.g., OSHA, NFPA, NEC).

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.

  • 10+ years of progressive maintenance leadership experience, preferably within foundry, heavy industrial, or manufacturing environments.

  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and control systems relevant to foundry operations (e.g., furnaces, molding machines, conveyors, etc.).

  • Proven experience managing large maintenance teams and implementing reliability-centered maintenance programs.

  • Proficient in CMMS systems (e.g., SAP, MP2, Fiix) and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Excellent project management, communication, and leadership skills.

  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, high-heat, and safety-sensitive environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or TPM methodologies.

  • Experience with OSHA regulations and safety program implementation.

  • Experience in union and non-union environments.
