Position Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level CAD Technician to join our construction design team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and a keen interest in construction-related projects. This position provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in drafting, design, and the construction process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in creating accurate and detailed CAD drawings for construction projects, including architectural plans, structural designs, electrical systems, plumbing layouts, and site plans.
  • Support senior CAD designers and engineers in preparing construction documents and schematics.
  • Review and revise CAD drawings based on feedback from team members and clients.
  • Ensure that all drawings comply with industry standards, local codes, and regulations.
  • Organize and maintain CAD files and documents for easy retrieval.
  • Coordinate with other departments and project teams to ensure design compatibility.
  • Collaborate on project presentations and assist in preparing design proposals.
  • Help with the preparation of material takeoffs and quantity estimates when needed.
  • Stay updated on CAD software and design technologies used in the construction industry.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree or certification in CAD, drafting, construction technology, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD or other CAD software (Revit, SolidWorks, etc.).
  • Basic understanding of construction design principles and terminology.
  • Ability to interpret and understand blueprints, construction drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in drafting and design.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new software and design tools.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous internship or coursework in construction design or a related field.
  • Familiarity with 3D modeling software (Revit, SketchUp, etc.).
  • Knowledge of local building codes and construction standards.

Work Environment: This position typically involves working in an office environment with some potential site visits, depending on project needs. This is a full-time entry-level position with opportunities for growth and advancement.
