Supply Chain Manager/Materials Manager

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Supply Chain & Materials Manager to lead the planning and coordination of production and materials across our manufacturing facility. This role is key to maintaining efficient workflows, meeting delivery targets, and supporting company-wide cost and service goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily and long-term production schedules to support smooth and efficient plant operations.

  • Align inventory and operational plans with sales forecasts and customer service goals.

  • Maintain accuracy of Bills of Materials (BOMs), routings, and system forecasts in the MRP system.

  • Track and report on production progress, identifying and resolving issues that impact delivery timelines.

  • Collaborate with corporate planning teams to meet service level expectations and inventory targets.

  • Make strategic decisions about inventory levels to balance working capital and customer needs.

  • Support sourcing initiatives and help strengthen supplier performance and relationships.

  • Manage purchase order processing and track spending to ensure it aligns with budget targets.

  • Lead physical inventory events or ongoing cycle count programs, depending on business needs.

  • Use sales and demand inputs to drive decisions that impact inventory turns and capital efficiency.

  • Emphasize process improvements and foster a culture of continuous improvement throughout the planning and supply chain functions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field.

  • 10+ years of experience in production planning and materials management within a manufacturing environment.

  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems (M3 preferred) and solid understanding of MRP principles.

  • Familiarity with supply chain planning tools (Logility experience is a plus).

  • Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills.

  • Proven ability to problem-solve and manage cross-functional teams effectively.

  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing or continuous improvement systems such as TPS is strongly preferred.

  • Team-oriented mindset with a strong focus on customer satisfaction and collaboration.
