Position Overview
Primary Responsibilities:
- Establish and update work standards for direct labor tasks and machine cycle times to support manufacturing performance assessments.
- Execute time studies, balance production lines, and analyze capacity to improve workflow efficiency and optimize the use of physical space.
- Lead initiatives for continuous improvement and cost reduction by leveraging lean manufacturing practices and industrial engineering strategies, resulting in reduced operational expenses.
- Conduct work sampling for indirect labor roles to refine workforce allocation and enhance process efficiency, driving down production costs.
- Perform capacity assessments to aid in strategic manufacturing planning for both immediate and future needs.
- Carry out research, testing, data analysis, and engineering evaluations in office, laboratory, and plant environments.
- Gather, process, and analyze data independently, providing actionable insights for project teams and management.
- Tackle increasingly complex engineering tasks as expertise grows, showcasing continuous professional development.
- Ensure compliance with IATF and ISO standards across design, testing, and analysis activities.
- Maintain a customer-focused approach, ensuring all deliverables align with client expectations.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related scientific field.
- Preferred: Previous experience or internships in engineering, manufacturing, or the automotive sector.
- Solid understanding of industrial engineering techniques and tools.
- Skilled in Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, Access, Project, Word, and PowerPoint.
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
- Predominantly based in a manufacturing or plant setting with exposure to operational activities.
- Occasionally lift and carry items up to 50 pounds.
- Engage in a mix of sitting, standing, and walking as needed.
- Standard visual acuity for screen-based tasks.
- Exposure to industrial noise, temperature variations, moving equipment, and plant emissions.
