Tool Room Manager Overview: Qualifications: 10+ years of experience in a similar role. Proficiency in tool room machinery. Strong leadership and communication skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. Skilled in reading blueprints and technical documents. Problem-solving skills with both standard and custom processes. Knowledge of ISO, SPC, and QS systems. Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Responsibilities: Lead and supervise toolmakers to ensure smooth workflow and productivity. Develop and maintain production schedules. Manage procurement of tooling components and supplies. Oversee preventive maintenance of equipment. Handle quoting, designing, troubleshooting, and development of tools. Track job progress, monitor costs, and support accurate estimating. Coordinate press time and shared equipment with other managers. Arrange die tryouts, secure materials, and oversee buyoff processes. Schedule and monitor external contractors. Conduct team meetings and performance evaluations. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and quality standards. Prepare reports on scheduling, job tracking, and checklists. Approve time entries and maintain attendance records. Report key performance metrics to senior management. Decision-Making & Authority: Ability to halt production if tooling quality or safety is compromised. Assign tasks, delegate responsibilities, and evaluate team performance.
