Looking for a Controller to own the accounting function and scale it with the company. This position will lead all corporate accounting operations, financial reporting, consolidations, as well as provide reliable and substantiated technical accounting guidance on GAAP-compliant industry practices. This position will report directly to the CFO.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the CFO to build out the corporate accounting and financial reporting function
• Lead and manage the financial close process (month, quarter, and year end), consolidation, bank reconciliations, and all aspects of financial reporting
• Oversee all technical accounting, including research, proposing accounting policies and procedures
• Oversee transactional processing & managing of all accounting functions including Revenue, Fixed Assets/CIP, Leases, Accounts Payable/Accruals, Payroll, Cost Accounting, General Accounting, and produce periodic management reports

• Ensure the timely and accurate accounting treatment of all transactions under U.S. GAAP, including day-to-day transactions as well as non-recurring transactions
• Develop and implement efficient accounting processes, systems and controls that will scale with business growth, including documentation of policies and procedures
• Champion process improvement efforts to drive efficiency and effectiveness over corporate accounting and general ledger activities
• Liaise with the company’s external auditors and consultants
• Makes sound recommendations to enhance efficiency of accounting and reporting functions

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive experience in accounting/finance
• CPA is a plus
• Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and key principles of application for a wide array of accounting/finance areas
• Demonstrated ability to assess, develop, enhance, and implement accounting/finance policies and procedures
• Experience with general ledger functions and leading the month-end/year end close process
• Previous ERP system knowledge; Sage Intacct a plus; Innovative/ICC a plus; ADP a plus
• Experience working at a trucking/logistics company is a plus
