RN - Manager Med/Surg

We are currently recruiting a Registered Nurse (RN) Manager of Med/Surg to work in Arlington, Texas in a 432-bed full-service hospital. The hospital has more than 1000 employees and 700 physicians across a wide variety of specialties.

Job Responsibilities of the Med/Surg Manager RN:

  • Responsible for the supervision, coordination, and evaluation of nursing care provided on the unit.
  • Supervises and coordinates the activities of the unit, which supports the safe and efficient delivery of care.
  • Assists the director in the implementation of performance improvement activities, hospital policies/procedures, and in the financial management of the unit.
  • Interviews and recommends the hiring of nursing staff.
  • Schedules the staff to ensure adequate coverage for all shifts.
  • Evaluates the staff performance while serving as a clinical resource for the unit.
  • Plans and conducts staff developments activities, staff meetings, and financial planning/budgeting for the unit.
  • Maintains 240hour accountability for the direction, supervision, coordination, and evaluation of personnel assigned.
Job Qualifications of the Med/Surg Manager RN:
  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing, BSN required. MSN preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience as a staff nursing in the clinical area, required. 2-3 years of management experience in Med-Surg, preferred.
  • Texas RN license or compact license, TX license required within 30 days of hire.
  • BLS required.
  • Manage 55 FTE s on the 32-bed unit.
Compensation and Benefits of the Med/Surg Manager RN:
  • Salary: $83k-$118k, depending on years of experience.
  • Relo up and sign-on bonus on a case-by-case basis.
  • Matching 401(k) contributions ranging from 3-9%.
  • PTO starting at 4 weeks per year.
