We are currently recruiting a Registered Nurse (RN) Director of Emergency Services to work in San Jose, California in a 474-bed full-service hospital. It is one of only ten hospitals nationwide to be awarded the Outstanding Achievement Award from the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer four consecutive times. They have a Joint Commission-certified stroke center and an accredited chest pain center.
About the unit/hospital:
High volume/high acuity patients.
80+ FTEs; 1 manager
35 bed ER
Psych receiving center.
Job Responsibilities of the Director of Emergency Services RN:
Oversees the director of patient safety, the director of quality, and the director of infection prevention.
Assures service, growth, development, personnel management and resource allocation.
Puts in place management controls in order to ensure consistent high-quality patient care in the ED.
A team builder, willing to put their boots in the ground and assist where needed, to include weekends if needed.
Job Qualifications of the Director of Emergency Services RN:
Graduate from an accredited school of nursing, BSN required.
Three plus years of experience in emergency services are required, plus three years of leadership required.
Must have large ED experience and recent acute care experience.
Current CA RN license required.
Having union experience would be very helpful.
One year of nursing experience is required in an acute care facility.
Will accept a pending CA license.
Compensation and Benefits of the Director of Emergency Services RN:
Salary: $140k and up, depending on years of experience.
Relo up to $10k.
Yearly bonus up to 15%, based on performance.
