Job Title:Interconnect Business Development Manager

Department/Division: Sales

Reports To: VP or Director of Interconnect Sales

The Role:
The IBDM working with Sales, Marketing and Engineers, is responsible for ensuring a high level of technical support within the listed functions to meet or exceed demand creation initiatives, design wins and sales for the franchised interconnect suppliers.
The IBDM will be the focal point for all interconnect initiatives within the customer base and will coordinate sales efforts between the field sales and direct sales, marketing and field sales and the AE’s and field sales.
Primary Responsibilities: (with customers and sales)
  • Work directly with outside/inside sales and direct sales for selling interconnect products.
  • Execute on programs developed in conjunction with product marketing to grow interconnect sales.
  • Recommend additions to the line card.
  • Drive interconnect sales opportunities to closure
  • Develop and expand our customer base.
  • Assist in the development and enhancement of relationships between us and suppliers’ direct sales teams.
  • Focus on a limited number of accounts at a time and focus on closing opportunities
  • Drive all customer friendly programs to enhance our position with the customer

     

    Value Add Responsibilities:

     

  • Develop programs to increase Interconnect sales to all our customers by offering and servicing Value Added requirements to the customer.
  • Develop and execute programs, processes and SOPs to enhance fulfillment opportunities at our accounts.
  • Provide technical training and support to sales, marketing and the customer.
  • Assist the inside and outside sales to increase interconnect sales
  • Increase the exposure of our sales, marketing and engineering to the suppliers.
  • Measure sales and profitability for assigned interconnect territories

     

    Supplier Responsibilities:

     

  • Develop and nurture relationships with all Interconnect Suppliers
  • Engage with all supplier product managers to gain an understanding of all products on the our line card
  • Ensure all inside/outside sales and marketing is being trained.
  • Develop a sales plan to include all major suppliers within the assigned region to drive business growth
  • Spearhead all supplier/sales QBR’s, enhance the process and assist in closing business opportunities.
  • Develop and implement product training programs for sales, marketing and application engineering.
  • Leverage supplier expertise to drive design wins
  • Coordinates supplier training where needed
  • Enhances process to drive customer delight and reduces the cost of doing business
  • Is the go-to person in sales and maintains the status of interconnect authority
  • Conduct “Lunch and Learns” at all assigned branches with focused suppliers

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Degree in engineering or business degree with interconnect experience
Minimum 5 years selling, marketing or interconnect operations
Must have discipline to develop, execute and measure a sales and customer plan
Must have the drive to grow sales in a difficult environment
Must be motivated by a variable income component based upon the ability to increase sales and profit.
