Senior Property Accountant – Commercial & Multifamily Real Estate
Location: Washington, DC (near Dupont Circle) | Hybrid (1 day remote after training)

A well-established and growing real estate services firm in Washington, DC is seeking a Senior Property Accountant to join their collaborative finance team. This company has over 30 years of experience managing more than 4 million square feet across the office, retail, condo, and multifamily sectors. Known for its deep local roots, stability, and client-focused approach, the firm continues to expand its residential portfolio and partnerships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the lead accountant for a 1,000+ unit portfolio of multifamily, mixed-use, and condo properties in the DC Metro area

  • Manage all financial reporting, general ledger entries, and monthly close activities using Yardi

  • Respond to resident and tenant inquiries related to billing and account balances

  • Collaborate with the property management and asset management teams on tax preparation and year-end reporting

  • Assist in onboarding and accounting integration for newly acquired properties and HOA-managed assets

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

  • 4+ years of property accounting experience, preferably in a real estate, multifamily, or HOA setting

  • Proficiency with Yardi or similar property management/accounting software

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams
