HR Coordinator/Specialist

Main Responsibilities:

  • Perform various administrative duties related to HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, employee engagement, and retention.
  • Lead recruitment efforts, including posting job positions, conducting phone screens, and facilitating in-person interviews.
  • Take full ownership of the recruitment process. Comprehensive training will be provided for new hires.
  • Develop an understanding of the ideal candidate profile through ongoing recruitment efforts, recognizing the characteristics of individuals best suited for these roles.
  • Manage applicant tracking system (Paylocity) to ensure accurate candidate data and position updates.
  • Facilitate employment offers by overseeing background checks, exclusion checks, and drug screenings.
  • Conduct onboarding sessions, manage employee file setup, and organize training programs for new hires.
  • Oversee intern and volunteer programs.
  • Support recognition and retention initiatives, including conducting stay interviews, exit interviews, and follow-up outreach to employees.
  • Address employee inquiries and assist with various HR administrative tasks, such as processing employee changes, maintaining HRIS records, and generating reports.
  • Handle unemployment claims and assist with leave administration, including FMLA, short-term disability, and unpaid leaves.
  • Support the HR Director by contributing to research projects and special initiatives.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • At least 2 years of experience in an HR department, with a focus on recruitment and onboarding.
  • Must reside within a one-hour commute of the workplace.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Experience with HR/HCM systems for managing recruitment, onboarding, and employee information.
  • Must pass a drug screening and criminal background check, given the organization's work with vulnerable adults.
  • An outgoing and engaging personality is essential for this role.
