Position Overview:
Seeking a versatile HR & Operations Manager to support a dynamic small firm. The ideal candidate will be highly organized and experienced in HR processes, benefits administration, recruiting, and general operations. This role requires multitasking across various functions with a strong focus on growth and development.
Key Responsibilities:
HR & Compliance:
- Develop and maintain HR policies; ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., FMLA, DC Family Leave).
- Oversee HRIS, timesheets, offboarding, and performance reviews.
Recruiting & Onboarding:
- Manage recruitment, job descriptions, and interview coordination.
- Oversee onboarding and orientation processes.
Benefits & Payroll:
- Administer group benefits and annual open enrollment.
- Manage payroll data and reporting.
Operations & Technology:
- Oversee IT systems, equipment, vendor management, and facilities.
- Support office infrastructure and staff tech needs.
Leadership:
- Supervise legal assistants and support their professional growth.
- Assist with salary and performance management processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field; SHRM preferred.
- 5+ years of HR/operations experience (2+ in management).
Schedule & Work Policy:
- Hybrid: 4 days in-office, 1 day remote.
