We are seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our senior leadership team, reporting directly to the CEO. The CFO will be a critical partner in driving the financial strategy and sustainability of our organization. This role requires a visionary leader who combines deep financial expertise with the ability to collaborate across departments and align financial decisions with the organization’s long-term goals.
The CFO will oversee financial operations, including property investments, program expansion, and operational efficiency. They will ensure clear, transparent financial communication with the Board of Directors, Finance Committee, and key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a trusted financial advisor to the CEO and leadership team, supporting decision-making on strategic growth, investments, and program initiatives.
- Lead financial operations across multiple entities, including budgeting, forecasting, accounting, and reporting.
- Provide insights and strategic guidance to inform long-term financial planning and investments.
- Lead the Finance Committee of the Board of Directors, delivering financial updates that are clear, concise, and transparent.
- Mentor and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, excellence, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure audit readiness and compliance, overseeing audits related to financial operations
- Work closely with other departments, offering financial guidance and ensuring that program leaders have the data they need to make informed decisions.
- Tackle complex financial issues with hands-on analysis and actionable solutions that drive operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
- 15+ years of financial leadership experience, ideally within nonprofit or government-funded organizations.
- Active CPA certification preferred.
- Experience managing a variety of revenue streams, including government contracts, grants, and private funding.
- In-depth experience with audit practices
- Proven ability to collaborate with government agencies and funders.
- Strong mentorship skills, with a track record of developing finance teams and leaders.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear actions.
- Excellent communication skills, particularly in translating financial data for non-financial stakeholders.
