Senior Accountant – Construction & Real Estate
Location: Tysons, VA (Onsite – 5 days/week)

A nationally recognized construction and infrastructure services firm is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their corporate finance team. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support the monthly and year-end close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness

  • Maintain the general ledger and ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded

  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, reconciliations, and variance reports

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with operations to track project-level costs and payments

  • Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and addressing inquiries

  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting, providing insights and variance analysis

  • Develop financial reports for joint ventures and subsidiaries, including calculating distributions

  • Recommend and implement process improvements, leveraging tools like SAP and Excel

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CPA track preferred)

  • 2+ years of accounting experience; public accounting or industry experience in construction or real estate strongly preferred

  • Experience with SAP, Oracle, or other large ERP systems highly desirable

  • Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, etc.)

  • Strong understanding of GAAP and corporate financial reporting

  • Ability to manage deadlines and work effectively both independently and collaboratively

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
