Our client is seeking an experienced Director of Administration to lead daily operations and administrative support functions in its local office. This individual will oversee office services, facilities, space planning, support staff management, and vendor coordination while working closely with senior leadership to maintain a high-functioning and client-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day administrative and operational activities of the office.
- Oversee support services staff, including performance management, staffing assignments, training, and employee relations.
- Develop and manage the office’s annual operating and capital budgets. Monitor expenditures, ensure cost control, and prepare financial forecasts.
- Oversee facilities operations, including coordination with property management, space utilization planning, and in-house office moves.
- Lead local vendor relations—selecting providers, negotiating service agreements, and reviewing contract performance regularly.
- Coordinate local events, staff engagement initiatives, and community service opportunities to enhance office culture.
- Ensure administrative procedures comply with applicable employment laws, workplace safety protocols, and firm policies.
- Collaborate with national administrative departments to implement and sustain best practices across locations.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Demonstrated leadership in administrative operations, preferably in a professional services or legal environment.
- Strong decision-making skills with a collaborative and strategic approach to leadership.
- Proven experience in hiring, mentoring, and developing staff; effective performance management and resource allocation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work across levels and departments.
- Proficient in budgeting, vendor negotiations, and resource planning
- Comfortable managing sensitive matters with discretion, diplomacy, and sound judgment.
- Technologically proficient with intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite and general knowledge of workplace tech solutions.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, or related field (required); advanced degree or certification preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years in office or operations management, including supervisory responsibilities and budget oversight.
- Experience within a law firm or regulated professional services setting strongly preferred.
