We are collaborating with a leading law firm in Washington, DC, and are actively seeking candidates to fill a crucial role in their team as a Litigation Legal Assistant.

Position Summary:

As a Litigation Legal Assistant, you will be a pivotal asset, providing invaluable administrative support to a group of accomplished attorneys within the firm's Litigation practice. Your knack for precise multitasking, organizational finesse, and collaborative spirit will be pivotal in ensuring seamless operations. Detail-oriented, excellent interpersonal skills and a proactive attitude are the attributes that will set you apart.

Responsibilities:

  • Edit, refine, and format a spectrum of legal documents—ranging from correspondence to agreements, pleadings, and presentations.
  • Collaborate in the production of intricate legal documents required for complex litigation cases.
  • Demonstrate adeptness in the management of proprietary data in digital formats.
  • Navigate various electronic document filing systems in alignment with established court procedures.
  • Assume the crucial role of coordinating schedules, meetings, and appointments, ensuring smooth logistics and resource management.
  • Engage in client communications, maintaining a fluid stream of updates and information.
  • Provide prompt, professional responses to client inquiries, upholding the firm's reputation for excellence.
  • Contribute to the firm's paperless workflows by maintaining organized files and executing scanning protocols.
  • Facilitate travel arrangements and manage expense reporting to support the attorneys.
  • Ensure accurate record-keeping by meticulously entering billable hours and reviewing pre-bills for precision.
  • Manage contact lists and databases efficiently, utilizing tools like Microsoft Outlook.
  • Harness online resources and databases for research purposes.
  • Collaborate in diverse administrative tasks and specialized projects as required by the attorneys.
  • Exemplify discretion and professionalism in handling confidential information.
  • Embrace flexibility by readily tackling any additional duties that contribute to the firm's success.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of litigation experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 suite.
  • Astute organizational skills and a talent for time management.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, coupled with impeccable proofreading abilities.
  • Familiarity with electronic filing platforms, including PACER and eFileDC, as well as traditional paper filing methods.
  • Superb written communication skills and mastery of grammar.
  • Commitment to delivering work of the highest quality and meeting deadlines consistently.
  • Willingness to embrace feedback and adaptability in a dynamic work environment.
  • Effective communication across attorneys, support staff, and administration.
