Senior Revenue Accountant

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Revenue Accountant to join a rapidly growing SaaS (Software as a Service) business. As a Senior Revenue Accountant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and compliant revenue recognition, supporting the company's financial health and strategic initiatives.

 

Responsibilities:

• Lead the end-to-end revenue recognition process, ensuring compliance with GAAP and other relevant accounting standards.
• Support the development and enhancement of internal controls related to revenue recognition processes.
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including revenue-related disclosures.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Customer Success, and Product teams to understand and analyze contracts, ensuring proper revenue treatment.
• Perform regular reviews and reconciliations of revenue-related accounts to guarantee accuracy and completeness.
• Partner with external auditors during financial audits to provide necessary documentation and explanations related to revenue recognition.
• Stay abreast of changes in accounting standards and regulations, assessing their impact on revenue recognition practices and implementing necessary adjustments.

 

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3+ years of progressive experience in revenue accounting, with a focus on SaaS businesses.
• In-depth knowledge of ASC 606 and other relevant accounting standards related to revenue recognition.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex contracts and identify key revenue recognition considerations.
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, Oracle) and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
