Position Overview

The Writer will work closely with Proposal Managers and other key personnel to develop compliant federal proposals. Strong communication, organizational, and desktop publishing skills are essential. Familiarity with computer applications and the Shipley proposal process is preferred.

Essential Functions

  • Proposal Support: Assist the Proposal Manager throughout the proposal lifecycle, ensuring compliance with RFPs and meeting deadlines.
  • Content Integration: Combine text and graphics into final documents, producing various BD documents including proposals, RFIs, RFQs, FPRs, and BAFOs.
  • Desktop Publishing: Provide formatting and publishing support, adhering to style guides and proposal plans.
  • Graphic Design: Develop graphics for proposals, websites, marketing materials, brochures, and presentations.
  • Copy Editing: Support writing activities by improving readability and correcting grammar/punctuation.
  • File Management: Maintain proposal files and templates.
  • Meeting Coordination: Schedule and prepare for meetings, including handling materials and logistics.
  • Security and Access Control: Enforce security procedures, manage electronic files, and support proposal collaboration sites using SharePoint.
  • Research and Writing: Conduct competitive research and perform basic writing tasks as assigned.

Experience

  • Proficient in desktop publishing and formatting
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat Professional

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field preferred.

Additional Qualifications

  • Proficient in Microsoft SharePoint and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to work independently
  • Proactive with attention to detail
  • Ability to work late and weekends as necessary
  • Knowledge of the Shipley proposal process is preferred

Please note this role is 4x per week in office.
