Principal DevOps Engineer

This Turn2 client is a fast-growing digital learning company is hiring a Principal DevOps Engineer to architect and optimize their next-generation cloud infrastructure. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on building scalable, secure, and automated platforms from the ground up, ideal for engineers who thrive on ownership and technical depth.

You’ll partner closely with engineering, QA, and product stakeholders to drive platform reliability, CI/CD performance, and DevSecOps maturity. This role also provides mentoring opportunities and visibility with technical leadership and executives.

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Architect and deploy AWS-based infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) approaches.

  • Design and manage GitOps workflows and application deployments in containerized environments.

  • Build and refine CI/CD pipelines across development, staging, and production environments.

  • Integrate DevSecOps practices into all stages of the software delivery lifecycle.

  • Lead incident response and guide resolution of complex production issues.

  • Mentor junior engineers and provide architectural insights to executive stakeholders.

  • Improve observability through centralized logging, monitoring, and alerting systems.

What You Bring:

  • 8–10+ years in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or Site Reliability roles.

  • Deep hands-on experience with AWS (EC2, ECS/EKS, IAM, VPC, S3, etc.).

  • Strong background in Infrastructure-as-Code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, or equivalent).

  • Experience implementing GitOps workflows and automating Kubernetes configurations.

  • Proficiency in scripting (Python preferred; Bash or PowerShell also applicable).

  • Familiarity with CI/CD platforms such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar.

  • Skilled communicator and mentor; comfortable influencing technical direction and presenting to leadership.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder.

Bonus Points For:

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect, Kubernetes Admin).

  • Experience with platform security and compliance automation.

  • Previous success in high-growth or mission-driven environments.
