Exciting Opportunity: Solutions Architect - EdTech

We are looking for a talented architect to support digital initiatives within the EdTech space, helping define the roadmap for Learning Management Systems (LMS), Learning Experience Platforms (LXP), and more!
Location: On-site 1-2 days a week in the Washington, DC area
What You’ll Do:
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop and validate solution architecture for professional learning systems.
- Lead the design and integration of new features, enhancements, and system upgrades for LMS and EMS platforms.
- Work with 3rd party vendors to ensure smooth integration and future enhancements.
- Guide technical teams through the solution design and development process, ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Promote and enforce best practices in architecture and design across the organization.
- Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of projects, from requirements analysis through implementation.
- Ensure alignment of IT solutions with business functions, helping stakeholders understand the long-term value.
- Develop and document technical and solution architecture plans, ensuring scalability, security, and performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide technical leadership and problem-solving expertise.
You Need to Have:
- 5+ years of experience in IT architecture, preferably in the EdTech industry with a focus on Learning Management Systems (LMS), Learning Experience Platforms (LXP), or similar technologies.
- Expertise in solution architecture design and implementation with a strong understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks.
- Experience with service-oriented architecture (SOA), microservices, and event-driven architectures.
- Proficiency in systems analysis, UML, Archimate, and Domain-Driven Design (DDD).
- Proven track record in leading software projects and delivering quality solutions in an agile environment.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders and guide cross-functional teams.
- Experience with eCommerce, product data, and product information management (PIM) is a plus.
- A solid understanding of cloud technologies, integration strategies, and modern development practices.
Education & Experience:
- A degree in Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Extensive experience in the EdTech sector, particularly with LMS, LXP, and related platforms.
- Experience with major software projects, including all aspects of the development lifecycle, from planning through deployment.
