We are looking for a dynamic and talented mining engineer to fill a Project Engineer role at our fast-growing, forward thinking mining services company headquartered in Bloomington, Indiana.
Turner Mining Group is seeking an energetic mining professional who can leverage their mining knowledge to expand upon our fast-growing business, creating best practices for project management and scalable business processes to ensure profitable operations. This person will function as a Project Engineer, overseeing project operations, work directly with the Operations Director, and coordinating with back-office teams. Leadership and an ability to problem solve while ensuring mining operations remain on budget and ahead of schedule. This is an opportunity to work as part of the executive leadership team in a fast-paced and flexible environment.

Position Overview
The Project Engineer will be responsible for project controls, tracking quantities and progress, cost control reporting, scheduling, billing, any necessary change orders, and subcontractor and supplier management. Strong communication skills are essential for success as well as problem solving to interact with the Owner, design firms, superintendents, and field personnel. In-depth understanding of current mining software and computer skills is essential. It is critical the Project Engineer has the ability to travel in order to maintain partnership with the Owner and site leadership.
Key Responsibilities
The Project Engineer is responsible for all project controls, tracking quantities and the project’s progress, ensuring cost control and reporting, scheduling, project billing, change orders, and subcontractor and supplier management. Responsible for all project involvement and oversight of mine site development and operations, including earthworks, facilities lining, piping and pumps, structural concrete and mechanical facilities. Strong communication skills, leadership, ability to problem-solve, interact with the Owner, design firms, and to lead as well as support superintendents and field personnel.
