As a cooperative staffing agency, we provide temporary workers a single, stable Employer-of-Record (EOR) relationship designed to help them (1) participate in ongoing training and professional development, (2) more easily find consistent employment, even if they are “permanently temporary” workers, (3) receive dignified benefits, even between jobs, and (4) improve financial creditworthiness, enabling them to qualify for home loans and other financial services that are essential to a thriving middle class. Our goal is to provide a path to family-sustaining jobs for 100,000 low-income workers nationwide by 2030.
Turning Basin Labs (www.turningbasinlabs.com) is hiring a world class Community Manager to own our engagement with workers, worker agencies, and the broader Bay Area workforce community. We are California’s first worker-owned DEI-focused staffing agency focused on driving the right balance between worker pay and employer productivity.
You will be someone with 5+ years experience engaging diverse communities in job and professional training opportunities. Prior experience working with low-wage Veterans, Homeless, Foster Youth, and other at-risk populations is highly valued + experience of engaging with broader DEI populations at mid to senior levels seeking employment. You will have experience curating community events that drive recruitment outcomes. You will be a self-starter, people focused, with an entrepreneurial spirit coursing through your veins!
Meet monthly/quarterly leads and revenue objectives related to worker placements
Cultivating community among Turning Basin Labs member workers
Source mentors, advisors, and speakers for community programs
Iteration of the curriculum and program design that supports our workers
Source and develop community benefits
Supporting marketing and promotion of the program across the Bay Area
Strong sense of ownership coupled with humility and a willingness to learn
Experience engaging the Bay Area workforce system
Passion for supporting workers in their journey
Experience working in a cross-cultural environment, especially in terms of engaging and building relationships across professionals and workers and the public
Deep experience of working with WOTC/at-risk populations like Veterans, Low-Income, recently incarcerated and more
Experience and empathy to identifying and supporting DEI candidates in to quality and family sustaining work.
This role will report to the Turning Basin Labs Managing Director and will be primarily based at our startup co-working space near Market and Montgomery in downtown San Francisco or our co-working space in Oakland.
$70k - $100k salary per annum
