Java Developer - U.S. Citizenship Required

US Citizenship and is required for this role.  Must be able to obtain a US Government Security Clearance.

Candidate will work within the Tier 2 team responsible for development and maintenance of TurningPoint’s proprietary Network Inventory and Optimization Solution (NiOS). Candidate will mentor a team providing production support for deployments at U.S. federal government hosting centers, third party cloud providers, and in-house at TurningPoint. NiOS is a web-based Java / Oracle/ MySQL application.

Functional Responsibility:

  • Work as a part of NiOS software development team to provide production support to customers.
  • Understand telecom service ordering, inventory management and invoice reconciliation in NiOS.
  • Debug and understand root causes for defects and code software patch.
  • Understand NiOS configurations and deploy to customer environments.
  • Have the technical skill to review, verify, and validate the software code developed in the project.
  • Defining and setting development, test, release, update, and support processes for DevOps operation on-prem and AWS cloud.
  • Identifying and deploying security measures by continuously performing vulnerability assessment and risk management
  • Setting up tools and required infrastructure continuous integration, continuous development pipeline (CI/CD) and continues monitoring.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelors or master’s degree in computer science, software engineering or related fields
  • Demonstrate experience in software development using one or more of the following: Java, JSP, SQL, ETL, XML, JavaScript, jQuery, Spring, and Hibernate
  • Understanding of databases and troubleshooting, validating, exporting, and loading data
  • Database experience in writing DDL and DML scripts – Data modeling, debugging and query optimization
  • Experience working on Linux based system and working knowledge on AWS cloud services
  • Build and deploy code using Jenkins, Apache Ant, or other build automation tools
  • Ability to work with multiple cross functional teams
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and debugging abilities to identify the root cause of issues
  • Provide patches for issues in a quick turnaround time

Resource must be available to work weekends and late nights to support maintenance and release deployment activities as needed

Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in Computer Science or other technical area or equivalent work experience

Desired Skills/Certifications:

  • Oracle Certified Java Programmer is a strong plus
  • Experience in SQL Databases – Data modeling, debugging and query optimization
  • Database experience in writing DDL and DML scripts
  • Experience with SVN repository or other source code management tools
  • Build and deploy code using Jenkins, Apache Ant, or other build automation tools
  • Experience with GSA telecom contracts, telecom carrier web portals, and carrier service ordering
