About the Role
A leading precision motion solutions company is seeking a Territory Sales Manager to drive business development across Southern California. This is a high-impact, relationship-driven role focused on expanding the adoption of customized linear motion systems and embedded mechatronics across high-growth verticals such as automation, medical devices, electronics manufacturing, and robotics integration.
You will be responsible for managing the full sales cycle—from technical discovery and solution consulting to quoting, negotiation, and account expansion. Supported by in-house engineering and applications teams, you'll serve as a strategic partner to OEMs, integrators, and advanced manufacturers seeking speed, precision, and reliability in their automation systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Territory Ownership: Drive pipeline development, lead generation, and account growth across the assigned Midwest region.
- Solution Selling: Conduct technical discovery and consult with customers to deliver customized linear motion and mechatronics solutions that align with their design and performance needs.
- Account Management: Build, maintain, and grow long-term relationships with OEMs, integrators, and strategic end users.
- Quoting & Proposals: Collaborate with internal engineering, product, and operations teams to deliver timely, competitive quotes and solutions.
- CRM proficiency (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot).
- Experience with linear actuators, bearings, or motion components is a strong plus.
- Prior experience working with a vertically integrated manufacturer or high-mix, low-volume environment is advantageous.

3. Compensation: Base salary + uncapped commissions and full benefits.
- Market Development: Identify new industry segments and use cases for motion systems; actively contribute to product feedback and positioning.
- CRM & Reporting: Maintain accurate activity tracking, opportunity management, and forecasting in the company’s CRM system.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experience: 5+ years of technical sales experience in motion control, mechatronics, automation, or industrial machinery. Background in electric motors or actuators is a plus.
- Territory Knowledge: Familiarity with the Southern California manufacturing and automation ecosystem is highly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical discipline.
- Technical Acumen: Strong understanding of mechanical systems, motion components, or automation systems. Able to speak fluently with engineers and operations leaders.
Sales Mindset: Proven ability to hunt, close, and grow accounts. Comfortable managing long sales cycles with multiple stakeholders.
Travel Ready: Willingness to travel within the territory for client meetings, tradeshows, and site visits (approx. 40–60%).
