Tax Supervisor, Manager, Senior Manager

CPA Firm — Tacoma, WA or 100% remote – Salary commensurate with experience

• Role can be 100% remote or hybrid if the candidate is local
• Targeting 5+ years of experience, prefers Big 4 and private mix, smaller firm experience is a plus
• CPA required
• Partnerships, HNW individuals, trusts & estates
• 65% prep, 35% review, review increases as they move up
• Core hours are 9-3pm during the summer, 9-4 pm during the rest of the year
• Good benefits, 5 weeks PTO (includes vacation and sick time), 7 paid holidays
• Managers and above get 6 weeks PTO

Minimum Education & Experience

• CPA Designation
• Bachelor’s Degree required, Graduate Degree preferred
• Exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical and communications skills
• 4+ years of public accounting experience
• Innovative/ Growth mindset

 

Duties & Responsibilities

• Demonstrate knowledge of industry trends, identify client issues and conflicts; proactively communicate solution options to client and team
• Manage engagement deliverables (such as tax returns, work papers, etc.)
• Demonstrate proficient technical skills for handling all client responsibilities, including knowledge of trends, industries, alternatives, etc.
• Understand the client’s organization, procedures and internal policies
• Act as a resource for tax staff and colleagues
• Analyze IRS notices and draft responses
• Prepare complex tax returns including partnerships, high net worth individuals, trusts & estates
• Understand clients’ goals and needs and servicing clients directly
• Own client relationships and work
• Research tax issues and providing guidance to clients
• Participate in business community engagement initiatives and with an expectation of growth
