Large Regional Bank—Phoenix, AZ (will relo)

 

The Sizzle

  • Senior: $90-110K, 10% bonus and 5K in stocks, vested over 3 years
  • Manager: $110-135K, 15% bonus and 13.5K in stocks, vested over 3 years
  • Roles are fully in office with potential for 1 remote day per week
  • Bonuses paid out in March
  • Big 4 auditor or regulatory reporting from bank with $100B+ in assets highly preferred
  • 4 weeks PTO, 8 sick days, 12 holidays, 4 sick days can roll over per year

 

Minimum Education & Experience

  • 4 year degree from an accredited institution. Degree should be in Accounting.
  • CPA license is highly preferred
  • Experience with a Big 4 (or top tier) audit firm and/or significant experience within a large bank’s Controller’s Group (Corporate Accounting Group) is highly preferred
  • Candidate should have 5-10 years of direct experience in the discipline.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Report Supervision: Lead detailed review of regulatory reports, including quarterly reports (Call Report, FR Y-9C, FR Y-9LP), monthly reports (TIC Reports), weekly reports (FR 2644 and FR 2900) and daily reports (FR2420 CD and FE).
  • Perform analytical reviews over regulatory reports, including variance analysis and explanation, reconciliations between the general ledger and various reporting systems, and working with report data providers to correct issues with data quality.
  • Prepare and maintain the Company’s Capital Calculations and Ratios.
  • Manage the quarterly updates to report desktop procedure documentation to ensure accuracy and alignment with current practices.
  • Maintain and comply with SOX controls over Regulatory Reporting.
  • Formally documents implications form recent rules, interpretations, and industry practices (GAAP, regulatory, etc.).
  • Facilitates implementation of new software (General Ledger, Reporting, etc.).
  • Assesses the impact of these changes on the Company and communicates with the relevant parties to ensure that any changes are correctly implemented.
  • Support growth initiatives including but not limited to new business lines, product extensions and M&A within their area of influence, ensuring that business initiatives are supported with regard to both launch dates and the necessary consideration of changes to internal controls, policies, and procedures.
  • Actively develop relationships across functional areas to ensure cross departmental collaboration
  • Assist with external financial audits, regulatory examinations, and similar activities.
  • Provide ad hoc reports customized to the needs of the CAO or other members of executive management.
