Revenue Accountant

$872M Electric Utility Company – Winchester, KY – $70-90K, no bonus

The Sizzle:

• Role is hybrid, in the office 3x per week, not far from Lexington, KY
• Will provide relocation
• CPA preferred
• Targeting 5-7 years of experience, GAAP experience, ASC 606 is not required
• Hierarchy: Controller, 4 Supervisors, 1 A/R, 2 Revenue accountants

Minimum Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related area required
• Any equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute
• Advanced degrees and/or certifications, including CPA, preferred

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

• Analyzes RTO transactions, reviews settlements and related reports completed by ACES, and tracks disputes
• Works closely with Power Supply and Performance and Improvement groups to resolve and research issues to ensure RTO purchases and sales are properly reconciled and recorded at month-end
• Analyzes and validates all other power and transmission revenues, and related costs
• Validates RTO, Power and Transmission vendor invoices for payment
• Prepares wholesale power billing using MVPBS
• Evaluates wholesale contracts and tariffs to determine required updates to MVPBS
• Prepares and analyzes transmission billing to entities as contracts require
• Prepares month-end sales, purchased power, and transmission journal entries
• Prepares internal and external financial reports; explains relevant accounting transactions; resolves accounting issues and discrepancies
• Prepares regulatory filings and reports (i.e. FERC, RUS, PSC Fuel Adjustment Clause)
• Prepares annual budget for transmission and wheeling
• Actively participates in and supports special projects throughout the year
• Promotes an environment of excellence by recommending and implementing continuous improvement in efficiency and effectiveness
