Senior Accountant
Privately Held Advertising and Marketing Company— $70-85K, plus discretionary bonus
THE SIZZLE:
- Role is fully in office in Tucker, GA – will offer one day per week WFH post training
- Targeting 4 years of experience, will look at 2-3 years of Big 4 or public accounting experience, public/private mix preferred
- Role reports to the Controller, potential to move into this role within the next 2-3 years
- Strong excel skills required, CPA preferred, Netsuite experience preferred

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- In general, the core of this position requires a motivated and detail-oriented team player skilled in dealing with financial and numerical data, with a strong understanding of GAAP
- The applicant should be well versed in working independently while thinking critically, and open to making suggestions to help improve the Company's organizational processes
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Thorough understanding of GAAP and its application to various financial accounts
- Advanced Excel skills required, as well as proficiency in other MS office products including Word and PowerPoint
- Must have excellent work habits, including a willingness to work the hours necessary to get the job done, especially when important deadlines cause greater than normal departmental pressures
- Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines
- Bachelor's degree with a major or emphasis in accounting
- A minimum of 4 years' experience in accounting is required
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Expect to experience high achievement and a burning desire to win
- Thie Senior Staff Accountant reports directly to the Controller
- This role will essentially serve as the "right hand" to the Controller, with this person having the long-term potential to eventually assume the Controller position as the Company continues to grow its footprint
- Assist with the monthly preparation of the Company's monthly, quarterly and annual compiled financial statements in accordance with GAAP
- Prepare and monitor debt compliance schedules for the Company's various debt obligations held with 3rd parties
- Perform monthly bank account and credit card reconciliations
- Monthly reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts
- Prepare general ledger entries by maintaining company files and records
- Daily processing of customer ACH and check payments
- Preparation of sales commission reports bi-weekly for payroll
- Preparation of monthly income deferral report
- Preparation of monthly sales tax filings for 16 states
- Preparation of vendor wire payments and ACH payments on an as needed basis
- Preparation of monthly sales reports, budget and cashflow reports for Management
- Assess internal controls including risk assessment, review of risk areas and communication of deficiencies to Management
- Protect the organization's integrity by keeping company and client information confidential
- Serve as backup to the Accounts Receivable Specialist and assist with client invoicing as needed
- Perform such other accounting, financial or administrative tasks as may be required from time
