Our firm is privileged to partner with this Amazing client & opportunity to scale up, built out their Accounting & Finance department [Finance Center of Excellence - COE] in Southern California. Will initially be remote with a return to office plan.

Here’s What You’ll Be Doing
As a passionate, hands-on Cost Accountant you will be an intricate part of the finance team owning a myriad of high-touch responsibilities, both tactical and strategic. Your work will have a broad impact, creating processes that others will follow and teaching best practices. Your focus will always be to ensure that we follow the highest levels of accuracy and compliance when it comes to our inventory balances. You will be playing an integral role in ensuring that all transactions related to inventory movement are properly recorded, from component parts to finished goods. You will partner closely with the operations team, ensuring a complete and timely reconciliation of records between us and our strategic partners. You will play a lead role in analyzing costs related to inventory, ensuring we are following appropriate GAAP standards, identifying deviations from plan and providing analysis and insight around inventory on hand and demand planning.
You will have expertise in your area, working and coordinating across multiple teams, as well as improving upon the team’s procedures. You have a strong understanding of cost accounting systems. You will analyze key financial and operating data to improve the business overall, then communicate the data and your conclusions clearly to business owners. You will be responsible for unique financial projects and understanding and operating our accounting system and e-commerce platforms. You will report to the Senior Manager of Operations Finance.
Your Celebrated Qualifications:
You have a bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
6+ years of experience in general accounting, of which 3+ years was focused on cost accounting supporting a complex manufacturing and operations
Experience preparing financial reports, reconciling account balances and analyzing the output of your efforts
You consistently produce high quality work, accurate results
You have a good foundation in financial reporting and GAAP accounting and can apply your knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and procedures to solve issues that arise with skill and integrity
Ensure cost reconciliation is performed weekly, monthly investigate variances, and identify cost-out actions
Manage the reconciliation of physical inventories and cycle count program
Making estimates of new and proposed design, material and vendor changes
Maintaining Cost Accounting System
Ensures strong controls and processes around finished goods, return inventory, components, spares and inventories
Experience setting costs standards and supporting cost improvement and material cost-out projects
Collaborate with engineering, quality, supply chain, and operations personnel on development and analysis of costs
Must have a strong Cost systems background and good foundation in financial reporting and GAAP accounting and can apply your knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and procedures to solve issues that arise with skill and integrity
Have excellent analytical skills; sound understanding of accounting principles.
Ensure prepare daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports are provided to management
Strong Excel skills and systems skills to be able to extract and analyze data by part level

You have public accounting experience
You have ERP (preferably NetSuite) experience
