Senior Staff Accountant

Job Summary:

 

The Senior Staff Accountant will assist in all aspects of accounting. Specific responsibilities include job costing, revenue recognition, expense analysis, inventory management, production, and contract invoicing. This position requires an individual who is highly self-motivated and works equally well with or without constant direct supervision, and the ability to read instructions represented in manuals, and follow these instructions. This position exists in a temperature-controlled environment.

 

Essential/Key Functions:

 

  • · Read and comprehend instructions and follow established procedures
  • Interfaces with appropriate departments to secure proper payment approvals
  • Assist in preparing Revenue, Cost, and Profit & Loss reports as required
  • Assist in Standard cost, BOM, Inventory variances, and Overhead Expenses analysis
  • Maintains and Reports all Project Cost and Revenues
  • Performs both Project and Finished Goods Billings for the Govt/Defense division
  • Processes monthly invoicing
  • Review accounts receivables for past due accounts and aging
  • Document work instructions for procedures and workflows
  • Assist in the monthly ERP close as well as preparation of financial statements
  • Assists with related special projects as required

Minimum Qualifications Required:

 

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • 3–5 years’ experience
  • Must be comfortable having regular communication with clients
  • Experience with project costing helpful
  • Government accounting experience helpful
  • Familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFAR) provisions helpful
  • Experience with payroll processing helpful
