Job Summary:

The Environmental, Health and Safety Manager will implement and execute the company’s safety and industrial hygiene (IH) programs and policies.

Essential/Key Functions:

 

  • Read and comprehend instructions and follow established procedures
  • Achieve and maintain a safe and legally compliant (with respect to environmental, health and safety laws) workplace.
  • Implement and execute safety and industrial hygiene policies and programs.
  • Act as company subject matter expert in environmental, health and safety laws and rules, including HAZCOM, HAZWOPER, OSHA, MIOSHA, EPA, radiation safety (x-ray machinery), fire code, compressed gases, forklift, lockout/tagout, respirator/PPE, high voltage electrical safety, hearing conservation, etc.
  • Conduct inspections and identify and correct hazards and other potential points of risk and liability.

 

Education and Experience

Required Education: Bachelor’s degree in EHS or STEM related field.

Preferred Education: Bachelor’s Degrees in Occupational Safety or a related field (Industrial Safety, Construction Safety, Industrial Hygiene, etc.) are preferred. CSP or CIH certification not required, but preferred.

Required Experience: At least 5 years of practical experience in the field of industrial, manufacturing or laboratory safety.

Preferred Experience: Battery industry experience and experience with safety of laboratories and operations that use chemicals is preferred.
