Are you a new or experienced Linen attendant or housekeeper?

 

Job Summary: Provide excellent customer service by accurately inventorying and stocking linen storages areas to full par. Help maintain plant efficiency by pulling all soiled linen from designated areas and making available for transport during designated times. Pull orders and stock scrub machines as necessary to ensure positive user satisfaction. Remove soiled scrubs from scrub returns and place in designated area for transport back to plant. Ensure all clean linen deliveries are immediately transported to linen room for inventory. Foster a positive attitude and team environment.

Location: Richmond, VA

Shift: 2nd Shift - Monday - Friday 11am-7:30pm

Pay Rate: $15/hr

Major Duties and Responsibilities (may include, but not limited to the following):

• Inventories use areas throughout the hospital
• Accurately completes all necessary paperwork
• Prepare and pack carts of clean linen based on pick tickets to deliver to the use areas
• Select appropriate scrub inventory to stock vending units across campus
• Collects soiled linen bags and carts from soiled linen utility areas
• Maintain the linen room and scrub room in a neat and orderly manner to ensure accurate and stable supply levels
• Follow all PPE and other worksite safety requirements

Accountability and Miscellaneous:

• Performs other duties as directed by supervisor and/or manager
• Must maintain a criminal background in compliance with worksite requirements
• Must pass drug screening, pre-employment and random

Education:

• High School diploma or GED

Qualifications:

• Stocking or inventory experience required
• Previous laundry experience preferred

Knowledge and Skills:

• Knowledge of safe work practices
• Must be able to communicate effectively, read and comprehend written materials
• Basic computer skills
• Must be able to conduct a physical inventory
• Must be able to organize multiple tasks and perform under minimal to moderate supervision
• Skill in working independently/in the absence of immediate supervision
• Skill in establishing and maintaining cooperative relationships with those contacted in the course of work
• Good verbal communication skills
• Ability to perform all physical aspects of assigned duties

 

Essential Job Functions:

• Must be able to stand for the entire shift which is a minimum of 8 hours per day
• Between 95-98% of this time may be spent stooping, climbing, walking, bending, pushing, and/or pulling
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 20 pounds;
• Must be able to push loaded linen hampers/baskets
• Must be able to pull loaded linen cart which may weigh in excess of 500 lb.
• Must be capable of regular, full-time attendance
• Must be capable of rotating shifts and working on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays as needed
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English
