A 30-year old locally owned machine shop is currently seeking experienced manual machinist who has worked previously in a production/fabrication machine shop environment.

This is a “direct-hire” full-time position. You will be responsible for set-up and running large manual lathe & mill machines to manufacture or recondition hydraulic cylinders, heavy equipment front & rear suspensions including spindles, axels, wheel hubs, blade lifts and more for Caterpillar, Komatsu and other heavy equipment manufacturers in the mining and construction industry

Benefits of the Manual Machinist / Machinist Position:

• Starting wage $16.00 - $24.00 an hour DOE
• Schedule: Monday – Friday 7:00am – 3:00pm
• Benefits including health insurance and paid holidays
• This is a “direct-hire” opportunity and not a “temp” or “contract-to-hire” position

Responsibilities of the Manual Machinist / Machinist:

• Operation of large manual machining equipment.
• Responsible for operating conversational lathes, milling machines, surface and OD grinders, etc. to obtain required results.
• Ability to design, develop and construct intricate jigs, fixtures, tools, and dies from general instructions and determine details from production parts/finished products drawings involving tool development and experimental work.
• Capable of visualizing finished products, making necessary mathematical calculations, and determining allowances for spring, metal flows, shrinkage, fitting, finishing, etc.
• Plan, layout, and perform all machine operations requiring particular skills, difficult setups, or machining methods.

Qualifications for the Manual Machinist / Machinist Position:

• Previous manual lathe & mill machining experience is required.
• You will be responsible for working from drawings and blueprints to produce quality parts.
• Experience working in a production/manufacturing environment is required.
• Own your own measuring devices & tools based on experience
• Previous stable work history.
