Currently looking for a Lead Diesel Mechanic for this “direct-hire” opportunity to help ensure that qualified diesel mechanics are performing preventative maintenance repairs correctly on Freightliner, Peterbilt, Volvo and Kenworth late model trucks efficiently and that the service department maintains a consistently high level of customer satisfaction.

• Schedule: Sunday - Wednesday 6:00am – 4:30p
• Wage: $24.00 - $30.00 an hour DOE
• This position qualifies for a potential monthly bonus.

Responsibilities for the Lead Diesel Mechanic / Diesel Technician position include:

• Hire, train and motivate qualified diesel mechanics.
• Assist mechanics in developing their skills while promoting a strong Safety Environment.
• Schedule repair work and assign technicians to mechanical segments that match their skill level to ensure quality.
• Ensure that all repairs are assigned to mechanics in an equal and fair manner.
• Provide technical support for mechanics when necessary.
• Check progress of each repair order throughout the shift.
• Maintain high-quality repairs and minimizes comebacks. Conduct periodic spot checks of completed jobs for thoroughness and quality.
• Road test vehicles to quality-check work performed when necessary.
• Monitor mechanics’ daily productivity reports and corresponding payroll records.

Qualifications for the Lead Diesel Mechanic / Diesel Technician position include:

• A Minimum of 5 year’s related tractor or trailer shop and technician experience.
• A Minimum of 1-3 years’ previous lead/foreman/supervisor experienced required.
• Must have own tools.
• Class A CDL and current DOT medical card preferred. Must be willing to obtain at company’s expense.
• Must have an acceptable driving record.
• Previous Vendor relationship experience is preferred - Cummins, Peterbilt, Kenworth, International, Freightliner or Volvo.
• ASE Master Certification program; Diamond Certification Program; Cummins, Freightliner, Peterbilt, Freightliner, Volvo or another appropriate manufacturer certification are always a plus
