Core Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Analysis

• Prepare comprehensive monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for multiple development projects
• Conduct variance-to-budget analyses and create supporting schedules
• Perform detailed account reconciliations and bank reconciliations
• Generate cash flow projections and maintain real-time financial tracking

Development Project Accounting

• Percentage of Completion Expertise: Calculate and ensure accurate gain recognition using percentage of completion methodology
• Transaction Management: Handle complex acquisitions, dispositions, and gain-on-sale calculations
• Project Cost Management: Work closely with project managers to ensure accurate period-end accruals and job costing
• Asset Management: Coordinate job cost closeouts and fixed asset recording for depreciation timing

Specialized Development Functions

• Construction Loan Management: Prepare monthly draw packages for construction loans and financing vehicles
• Real Estate Tax Administration: Maintain detailed tax schedules with parcel IDs and location data
• Disposition Support: Review contracts, prepare closing statements, and manage pro-rations and recoveries
• Audit & Tax Preparation: Provide comprehensive schedules and documentation for external audits

Strategic Financial Planning

• Develop and maintain budgets and forecasts using advanced accounting systems
• Upload financial data into Yardi accounting platform
• Provide backup support and cross-training for team continuity
• Conduct peer reviews to ensure consistency and share best practices

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field
• Experience: Minimum 4 years of accounting experience with commercial real estate or development background strongly preferred
• Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
• Industry Knowledge: Understanding of real estate accounting principles and development processes

Highly Desirable Experience

• Percentage of Completion Methodology: Hands-on experience with this specialized accounting method
• Yardi Voyager: Experience with this industry-leading real estate software platform
• Construction/Development: Direct exposure to commercial development projects and construction accounting
