We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist for a temporary assignment lasting several months. This is a fully on-site position based in Berkeley, California, offering an excellent opportunity to contribute to a dynamic finance team while gaining valuable experience.
Position Details:
- Duration: Temporary assignment for a few months
- Location: Berkeley, California (fully on-site)
- Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday
Key Responsibilities:
- Process high-volume accounts payable transactions in a fast-paced environment
- Review, code, and enter vendor invoices with accuracy and attention to detail
- Perform three-way matching of invoices, purchase orders, and receiving documents
- Resolve vendor inquiries and payment discrepancies in a timely manner
- Prepare and process weekly payment runs including ACH, wire transfers, and checks
- Maintain vendor files and assist with month-end closing activities
- Support ad-hoc projects and provide backup coverage as needed
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 2+ years of hands-on accounts payable processing experience
- Proficiency with ERP systems (experience with major platforms required)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and complex formulas
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with high transaction volumes
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with vendor management and payment processing
- Knowledge of accounting principles and month-end procedures
- Previous temporary or contract work experience
