ENGINE TECHNICIAN

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Engine Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, specializing in engines, and possess the expertise to ensure the optimal performance and maintenance of these engines.
Education: Technical certification in mechanics or a related field.
Experience: Proven experience as an Engine Technician or similar role.
Location: Zanzibar, Tanzania
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Diagnose and repair engines, ensuring adherence to manufacturer specifications.
- Conduct routine maintenance on engines, including oil changes, filter replacements, and spark plug inspections.
- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues in engine systems.
- Perform diagnostic tests using specialized tools and equipment to identify engine malfunctions.
- Install, repair, and maintain fuel systems in engines.
- Inspect and replace worn-out or damaged parts in engines, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Calibrate and adjust engine components to achieve optimal performance.
- Keep detailed records of maintenance and repair activities for each engine serviced.
- Collaborate with other technicians to address complex engine issues and share knowledge.
- Stay updated on the latest engine models, technologies, and service procedures.
- Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the workshop and tools.
- Provide technical support to customers and address inquiries related to engine maintenance.
- Assist in the development of maintenance schedules for engines.
- Test-run repaired engines to verify proper functionality and performance.
- Maintain an inventory of engine parts and supplies.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while working with engines.
- Keep abreast of industry trends and technological advancements in marine engine systems.
- Train junior technicians on engine diagnostics and repair procedures.
- Collaborate with the sales team to provide technical expertise during customer demonstrations and trials.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance overall service efficiency.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Proven experience as an Engine Technician or similar role.
- Technical certification in mechanics or a related field.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in using specialized tools and equipment.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Effective communication and customer service skills.
