Rehab - Physical Therapy Assistant PRN Days

The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) assists Physical Therapists in implementing and maintaining treatment plans using a variety of treatment techniques creating personalized goal-oriented health care programs for patients. S/he will treat patients, sanitize treatment areas, set up therapy equipment and monitor patients throughout their treatment.
JOB DUTIES
- Collect, assess and record patient information
- Implement and execute established treatment plans and help guide therapeutic exercise
- Administer medically prescribed physical therapy treatments to relieve pain and improve mobility
- Advise patients on exercise techniques and in-home treatment options
- Provide educational information about injury prevention, ergonomics and ways to promote physical health
- Set up therapy equipment
- Sanitize therapy area
- Lift or move patients, as necessary
- Monitor and guide patients through exercises
- Document patient care history timely and accurately
- Comply with all rules, regulations and procedures
- Maintain confidentiality of all information according to HIPAA and company policy
The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) assumes other responsibilities as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Analytical ability to apply criteria and evaluate information to make decisions
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; and excellent interpersonal skills in teaming with patients, medical staff and the public
- Detail oriented with proven ability to multitask
- Professional appearance and ease in developing rapport with others
- Ability and willingness to accurately and appropriately document patient care notes in a timely manner in accordance with billing and regulatory requirements
- Computer skills including MSOffice, Outlook, Meditech, preferred
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Completion of Physical Therapy Assistant program from an accredited educational institution, required
- Current Kansas Physical Therapy Assistant License, required
- Current BLS Certification, required
- 1-2 years’ experience in an acute or clinical setting, preferred
