TITLE: Senior Tax Manager

COMP: $140,000 - $170,000 + Bonus + Stock

LOCATION: Irvine, CA 92612 (Hybrid)

About to Role:

Our Public Manufacturing client is seeking an experienced Tax Manager to support the Company’s global tax and compliance obligations in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment. This individual will ensure timely, reliable filing of international, consolidated federal, state, and local income tax returns, business licenses, and other business-related filings. They will also be required to support internal audits and special related projects. Their ideal candidate must have a Public Accounting upbringing.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Company’s quarterly and annual tax reporting process, managing the collaboration with the Company’s SEC reporting team as well as maintaining excellent relationships with external auditors.
  • Partner with the Senior Leadership to advise on global projects, review tax opportunities, develop forecasts and optimize tax department operations.
  • Perform all quarterly income tax forecasting
  • Develop & maintain the State Income & Apportionment models used through all stages of the compliance and tax provision process.
  • Lead tax compliance processes for federal, state and local income and indirect taxes.
  • Be the technical leader on all tax accounting matters.
  • Lead tax due diligence and structuring for mergers and acquisitions.
  • Manage federal, state, and local tax audits.
  • Maintain knowledge of current and proposed tax laws and analyze their impact on the Company.
  • Research technical tax matters and prepare documentation to support tax positions.
  • Support strategic tax planning, identify, recommend, and implement policies, procedures and best practices.
  • Oversee compliance with internal controls and SOX documentation.
  • Partner with Finance, Treasury and other stakeholders to evaluate business opportunities and global initiatives.
  • Champion operational excellence through process improvement and technology transformation

  • Hiring and managing a dedicated state income tax consulting team as the practice grows
  • Provides technical tax support to all facilities and entities
  • Income Tax Provisions work co-sourcing partner on tax provision process for
  • Lead, prepare and review U.S. Consolidated Income Tax Provisions
  • Coordinates the preparation of personal and real property tax declarations and related payments.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related; Master’s degree preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in the corporate tax function
  • Public Accounting firm experience is required
  • CPA license is preferred
  • Excellent leadership, coordination, detail-oriented skills to manage consolidated tax group and US control group companies.
  • Excellent prioritization and multi-tasking skill to meet tight deadlines and work.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external, to accomplish goals.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
