We are seeking to hire an IT Manager for one of our clients located in Vancouver, WA. Below is more about the position:
Key Responsibilities
- IT Strategy & Planning
- Develop and implement an overall IT strategy aligned with business goals.
- Propose and manage technology budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and ROI.
- Lead the transition from on-premises infrastructure to Microsoft Intune, SharePoint, and Entra ID.
- Infrastructure Management
- Oversee servers, networks, cloud environments, and security systems.
- Plan and execute the migration of on-premises servers and Active Directory to cloud-based solutions (Entra ID, SharePoint).
- Deploy and manage Microsoft Intune for device management and security.
- Manage hardware and software procurement, including vendor relationships.
- MSP Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for our external MSP.
- Coordinate day-to-day support tickets and escalations to ensure timely resolution of end-user issues.
- Collaborate with the MSP on IT projects, upgrades, and new deployments.
- Evaluate MSP performance and maintain a productive, long-term partnership.
- IT & Security
- Oversee internal IT operations, ensuring staff are well-trained and equipped to manage daily tasks and complex challenges.
- Evaluate and implement security protocols and practices to protect against emerging threats and maintain ISO 27001 compliance.
- Provide hands-on leadership in complex problem-solving, system optimization, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Security & Compliance
- Establish and enforce data security policies and procedures in line with ISO 27001.
- Implement and maintain systems and processes to uphold ISO 27001 requirements, including risk assessments, audits, and corrective actions.
- Project Management
- Plan and execute technology projects (e.g., systems upgrades, cloud migrations, software rollouts).
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies to enhance productivity and efficiency.
- Coordinate the roadmap for moving on-premises resources—including Active Directory—to Entra ID and other cloud-based solutions, ensuring minimal downtime.
Qualifications
- Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 8+ years of progressive IT experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Proven experience managing an ISO 27001-compliant environment or implementing ISO 27001 standards is strongly preferred.
- Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of networking (LAN/WAN), server administration, and virtualization.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (including Intune, Entra ID, and SharePoint) and migration from on-premises systems.
- Familiarity with IT service management (ITSM) frameworks (e.g., ITIL).
- Proven track record implementing security best practices and data protection measures.
