About to Role:
Our client is seeking a Senior Tax Manager to support the Company’s tax and compliance obligations in an established, stable environment. Reporting directly to the CFO, this individual will have a clear path to promotion, becoming Tax Director.
This individual will ensure timely, reliable filing of consolidated federal, state, and local income tax returns, business licenses, and other business-related filings.
The ideal candidate will have Tax Firm/Public Accounting experience as well as corporate experience.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the Company’s quarterly and annual tax reporting process
- Partner with the Senior Leadership to advise on projects, review tax opportunities, develop forecasts and optimize tax department operations.
- Perform all quarterly income tax forecasting
- Develop & maintain the State Income & Apportionment models used through all stages of the compliance and tax provision process.
- Lead tax compliance processes for federal, state and local income and indirect taxes.
- Be the technical leader on all tax accounting matters.
- Manage federal, state, and local tax audits.
- Maintain knowledge of current and proposed tax laws and analyze their impact on the Company.
- Research technical tax matters and prepare documentation to support tax positions.
- Support strategic tax planning, identify, recommend, and implement policies, procedures and best practices.
- Partner with Finance, Treasury and other stakeholders to evaluate business opportunities and initiatives.
- Champion operational excellence through process improvement
- Be a supportive and active coach for one direct staff/team member, to promote their professional development
- Lead, prepare and review U.S. Consolidated Income Tax Provisions
- Coordinates the preparation of personal and real property tax declarations and related payments.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related; Master’s degree preferred
- 10+ years of experience in tax
- Public Accounting firm experience is required
- CPA license is preferred
- Excellent leadership, coordination, detail-oriented skills to manage consolidated tax group and US control group companies.
- Excellent prioritization and multi-tasking skill to meet tight deadlines and work.
- Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external, to accomplish goals.
