Job Title: Senior Recruiter
Compensation: $100-120K + Bonus
Location: Ontario, CA - hybrid
The Opportunity
The Senior Recruiter will be a key player in attracting, engaging, and hiring top talent for our rapidly expanding distribution operations and corporate functions. This role will partner closely with leadership to understand staffing needs, develop effective recruitment strategies, and manage the full recruitment lifecycle from requisition to onboarding. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in high-volume recruiting, a deep understanding of the distribution industry, and a passion for building strong teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Partnership & Needs Assessment:
- Collaborate directly with department heads, hiring managers, and senior leadership to proactively identify current and future hiring needs and workforce planning initiatives.
- Provide strategic guidance and consultative support to leadership on talent acquisition best practices, market trends, and competitive intelligence.
- Develop and implement comprehensive recruitment strategies tailored to specific roles and organizational goals.
Full-Cycle Recruitment:
- Manage the entire recruitment process for a diverse range of roles, including but not limited to warehouse personnel (e.g., forklift operators, pickers/packers), drivers, logistics coordinators, operations managers, sales, and administrative staff.
- Source active and passive candidates through various channels including LinkedIn Recruiter, job boards, professional networks, industry events, and employee referrals.
- Conduct in-depth phone screens and interviews to assess candidate qualifications, experience, and cultural fit.
- Present qualified candidates to hiring managers, facilitate interview processes, and gather feedback.
- Manage offer negotiations, extending offers, and ensuring a smooth transition for new hires.
Job Description Development & Branding:
- Work with hiring managers to create compelling, accurate, and legally compliant job descriptions that attract high-quality candidates.
- Ensure job descriptions effectively highlight key responsibilities, qualifications, and the unique value proposition of working at [Distribution Company Name].
- Champion our employer brand, effectively communicating our company culture, values, and career opportunities to prospective candidates.
- Candidate Experience & Onboarding:
- Ensure an exceptional candidate experience throughout the recruitment process, providing timely communication and feedback.
- Collaborate with HR and hiring managers to facilitate a seamless and effective onboarding process for new hires, ensuring they are set up for success from day one.
Data & Analytics:
- Track and report on key recruitment metrics (e.g., time-to-fill, cost-per-hire, source of hire) to identify areas for improvement and demonstrate ROI.
- Utilize Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) efficiently for candidate management and data integrity.
Compliance & Best Practices:
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of employment laws and regulations to ensure all recruiting practices are compliant.
- Identify and implement best practices in recruitment, leveraging industry trends and innovative sourcing techniques.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in full-cycle recruiting, with a significant portion in a distribution, logistics, supply chain, or manufacturing environment.
- Proven ability to work effectively with all levels of leadership, providing strategic and consultative support.
- Strong experience in creating detailed and engaging job descriptions.
- Demonstrated success in high-volume recruiting and sourcing for a diverse range of roles.
- Proficiency with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and various HRIS platforms.
- Excellent communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.
