Company Overview:

Our client is a leading global distribution company with an international headquarters and a robust presence across North America. Their commitment to operational excellence, innovation, and customer satisfaction drives their success. They are seeking a dynamic and strategic Vice President of Human Resources to oversee their North American operations, driving HR excellence and aligning their people strategy with their business objectives.

 

Position Overview:

The Vice President of Human Resources – North America will play a critical role in shaping and executing HR strategies that support the company’s business goals and foster a high-performance culture. This executive will lead a dedicated team of HR professionals, providing strategic leadership in talent management, organizational development, employee relations, and HR compliance. The VP will collaborate closely with the President and senior leadership to drive HR initiatives and ensure the effective management of HR functions across the region.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

• Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the company's overall business objectives and growth plans for North America.

• Partner with the President and senior leadership team to provide strategic counsel on organizational design, talent management, and workforce planning.

Talent Management:

• Oversee recruitment, development, and retention strategies to attract and retain top talent.

• Drive leadership development and succession planning to ensure a strong pipeline of future leaders.

• Implement programs to enhance employee engagement, performance management, and career development.

Organizational Development:

• Lead initiatives to build a positive and inclusive workplace culture.

• Manage organizational change and development efforts to support business transformation and growth.

• Ensure effective communication and alignment across departments and teams.

Employee Relations & Compliance:

• Address complex employee relations issues and ensure a fair and consistent approach to conflict resolution.

• Oversee compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations, including health and safety requirements.

• Develop and enforce HR policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance and best practices.

 

HR Operations:

• Manage HR operations including compensation and benefits, HRIS systems, and workforce analytics.

• Optimize HR processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness across the North American region.

• Oversee HR budget and resource allocation to maximize return on investment.

Team Leadership:

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of HR professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.

• Set clear objectives and performance expectations for direct reports, and conduct regular performance reviews.

 

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.

• Minimum of 10 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.

• Demonstrated experience managing HR functions within a large, multi-national distribution or manufacturing company.

• Strong knowledge of HR best practices, labor laws, and regulations in North America.

• Proven ability to lead and influence at the executive level, with exceptional strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with a track record of building strong relationships across all levels of the organization.

• Experience in managing large teams and complex projects, with a focus on achieving results.
