The company is seeking a Controller to join its dynamic and growing corporate team in Los Angeles, CA to assist with various fund and management company accounting issues.

Responsibilities will include:

Review monthly financials per the below review checklist for the properties, taxable REIT subsidiary and fund manager;

• Assist with monthly variance analysis;
• Audit various accounts disbursements for compliance with property management agreements, construction management agreements, cash control and capitalization policies;
• Manage quarterly and annual loan compliance;
• Assist with purchase price allocation process;
• Assist with REIT and income tax issues;
• Prepare taxable income estimates;
• Act as liaison with Property Management accounting staff;
• Document new policies and procedures;
• Assist with quarterly annual fund reporting; and
• Handle investor reporting issues.

 

• Assist with loan compliance;
• Handle investor reporting issues;
• Assist with quarterly annual fund reporting;
• Prepare taxable income estimates; and
• Document new policies and procedures.

 

• General ledger account analysis and budget variance reporting;
• Assist with implementing various initiatives;
• Perform cost center accounting;
• Document allocation methods;
• Yardi set up;
• Data conversion;
• Compile taxable income projections; and
• Create and update book estimates for external accountants to convert to tax.

Applicants should have the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting;
• CPA preferred;
• At least 7-10 years overall experience with at least 2 in real estate;
• Excellent computer skills: Excel, Word, Yardi, and Entrata; and
• Excellent written and verbal skills.
