Plan, implement, manage and run all the finance activities of this fast-growing, PE-backed company- including business planning, budgeting and forecasting. Provide leadership, direction and management of the local finance and accounting team. Provide strategic recommendations to members of the executive management team. Manage the processes for financial forecasting and budgets and oversee the preparation of all financial reporting. Advise on long-term business and financial planning for capital expenditures and acquisitions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Budgeting & Forecasting including Annual Budget, Monthly/ Quarterly Close and Quarterly Forecasting & Guidance. Support the monthly and quarterly financial close preparation by working with the accounting team in review of monthly income statements to determine appropriate accruals, recognize errors, etc. Provide the leadership team with monthly and quarterly actuals along with variance analysis and explanations.
- Accounting/Financial Reporting Leadership: Review monthly financials with internal management identifying favorable and unfavorable trends and identifying potential action plans as a result.
- Develop ad hoc analytical models to support business decisions and development
- Take a leadership role in implementing systems across departments
- Participate as a key member of management, providing support in all areas by acting as a sounding board for key decisions, supporting the creation of strategies and championing fact-based and strategy-based decisions
JOB REQUIREMENTS AND COMPETENCIES:
- Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, business or related field required. CPA and/or MBA preferred.
- Minimum 12 years of financial planning / accounting experience, with public accounting background preferred.
- Experience in managing an accounting and function for companies over $100M in revenue, within the manufacturing, distribution, retail or consumer products industries
- Strong systems knowledge and experience in leading and supporting system migrations and integrations
- Proven ability to be a thought partner to executives, a respected sounding board to CEO/other executives and an independent thinker.
- Ability to ask probing questions to flush out key issues and assumptions and constructively challenge other leaders on their thinking.
- Strong analytical skills with a proven ability to synthesize large amount of data in complex situations to support critical business decisions and develop models to support decisions
- Strong forecasting and budgeting skills with a demonstrated understand of the key drivers of the business and ability to translate that into solid budgets and forecasts
- Ability to clearly communicate key division metrics and issues to the management team and corporate staff using strong written, verbal and presentation skills.
