Senior Human Resources Manager
Location: Burbank, CA (Onsite 2 day)
Compensation: $130,000–$150,000 base salary + discretionary bonus
Employment Type: Full-time
Reports to: Head of Human Resources
About the Role
A growing hospitality group is seeking a Senior Human Resources Manager. This role supports a multi-site, multi-state hourly workforce with a focus on compliance, employee relations, and HR operations. The ideal candidate will be highly autonomous, proactive, and experienced in building processes that support business growth.
Key Responsibilities
HR Leadership & Strategy
- Serve as a strategic HR partner to restaurant and hospitality operations across multiple states.
- Operate independently with minimal oversight, aligning HR initiatives with business goals.
- Participate in leadership meetings to provide HR insight and guidance.
Employee Relations & Compliance
- Manage employee relations matters, including performance issues, investigations, and conflict resolution.
- Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local labor laws, with emphasis on California wage and hour regulations, leaves of absence, and recordkeeping.
- Conduct and document thorough workplace investigations and maintain legally compliant records.
Policy & Process Development
- Develop and refine HR policies and operational procedures.
- Identify gaps and implement scalable, consistent HR processes.
- Provide HR support to leadership teams, investors, and operators in a fast-paced, hourly work environment.
- Support store-level recruiting by ensuring compliant job descriptions and hiring processes.
Generalist HR Functions
- Manage core HR tasks including onboarding, training, performance management, and offboarding.
- Ensure accurate HR data management and reporting using HRIS systems.
Qualifications
- 7–10 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years in HR management
- Hospitality industry experience required
- Strong knowledge of California and multi-state employment laws
- Proven experience in employee relations, compliance, and investigations
- Excellent written communication skills for drafting policies and formal documentation
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and contribute strategically
- Experience building HR infrastructure from the ground up
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or a related field (HR certification a plus)
